When Ryan came out of Toilet, Derek curiously requested him for some gyan (ideas) regarding "mail securities" because he was very much frighten about getting his mail hacked.
Here's the Conversation between them and i was a pleasant listener.
Derek: "Ryan, do you have any idea for gmail security?"
Ryan: "hmm... yup, there is an option. That is *2-step verification*."
Derek: "what.. what did you say, 2-step verification?? interesting... how does it help to protect our email account from getting hacked?"
Ryan: "Ok, let me clear you that it's basically a verification that adds an extra layer of security to your Google Account by requiring you to have access to your phone – as well as your username and password – when you sign in."
Derek: "Continue man.. more Simplest explanation. huh?"
Ryan: "It is a process where your primary phone as well as an alternative phone are connected to your gmail account.. Or interlink them together.
for example, if anyone try to login your gmail account from any unauthorized computer, it will ask him for a code to enter which will be automatically send to your mobile for verification (on every login)."Derek: "that's pretty cool.. So, how to add this verification."
Ryan: "adding 2-step verification is not that difficult... all you need to do is go to "accounts.google.com/SmsAuthConfig" or "google.com/accounts/b/0/SmsAuthConfig" and follow the steps to verify".
Derek: "Thanks Ryan for the tips, it's really a nice way for making my gmail secure."
Ryan: "Anytime..." smiling with satisfaction.
I got to know something helpful, thanks to our Guru Ryan... even i heard about the 2-verification security but Ryan's explanation was far simple to understand.
